Press Piranhas Munch On Microsoft Following Job Cuts

After last week’s news confirming the 5000 job cuts made at Microsoft, the Telegraph has predicted further troubled waters ahead for the Big MS. With the news of job cuts following reports of an 8 percent slide in the sales of Microsoft’s bread and butter products, computer operating systems, troubling times are surely inbound for them. The Telegraph calls for a stop to MS boss, Steve Ballmer’s frivolous spending:

“it’s cutting 5,000 jobs, the first big layoffs in its 33-year history. The economic mess has highlighted Microsoft’s vulnerabilities. It is time for boss Steve Ballmer to stop dabbling in unprofitable business ventures and focus on his exposed core product lines.” – The Telegraph

With stock values already reeling from the blows of the last few weeks, newspaper reports such as these will surely not help Microsoft regain their feet, by worry and deterring buyers. Microsoft will survive the economic crisis, but what extent of damage will be done, both to its workforce and to its customers?
