SEGA is clearly thinking ahead of themselves and pre-empting poor sales of its new IP, Bayonetta this Christmas.
So, they’ve announced this morning that the game won’t now be out until January 2010 to avoid the ‘rush’. Good thinking Sega.
“Bayonetta is an extremely important new IP for SEGA and adds a new level of depth to our growing portfolio,” commented SEGA West president Mike Hayes.
“As a result of market analysis, we have taken a Publishing decision that January 2010 is the optimum release time in the Western Markets to maximise this exciting new title’s potential.”
The game will still launch in Japan as originally scheduled for 29th October. Some of you may remember the crowded shelves of last Christmas, forcing heavy discounts on games. However it looks like things will be a little different this year.
For those unaware, Bayonetta features a witch with barely any clothing. Infact the game is due to be rated an 18 by PEGI due to its raunchy nature. It also star guns though incase you thought something was missing.
We’ll keep you posted on a firm release date.
