Rockstar studios, a legend in the games industry for the ever-outrageous, boundary-smashing sandboxer that is the Grand Theft Auto series, are raising their game for their upcoming Cowboy-Em-Up, Red Dead Redemption, proclaiming it their “most ambitious game ever”.

Rockstar kicking up dustclouds with soaring ambitions.
With the genre-defining GTA series in ownership of established must-have credentials, Rockstar are throwing a fistful of dollars at the Western’s marketing in hope of it attaining a similar AAA status, even going as far as “running an on-screen cinema advertising campaign.” With release pushed back to May, the next two months will certainly determine whether the sales figures reflecting the marketing drive and the lofty ambitions of the development team are good, bad or downright ugly.
The company themselves seem highly confident, UK manager, Neil Stephen, boasting, “The game has garnered an incredibly positive reception from the gaming and lifestyle press with many outlets placing Red Dead Redemption as a possible game of the year contender.” We’ll see if he’s a straight-shooter at high noon on May 21st.
