Polyphony Digital has teamed up with popular accessories manufacturer Thrustmaster to create an officially licensed steering wheel for Gran Turismo 5.
The Thrustmaster T500RS, only the second official wheel for use with Gran Turismo, is available to buy now in European, African and Australasian markets, and will set you back a considerable £450.
For that price, you’ll get “a rugged, almost all-metal design weighing in at a meaty 12kg for both the wheel and the pedal set up”, according to Sony.
“The goal that I set for the Thrustmaster team was to design for me the most precise wheel ever developed, without any latency – to accurately reproduce the sensations of GT5, and let users truly feel the emotions experienced by drivers on real racing circuits,” said Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi.
The T500 RS also features “precision engineered steering, acceleration and braking inputs” according to a recent post on thePS Blog.
