Square-Enix has registered a domain name for Final Fantasy XIII-2, suggesting the company may be about to announce a follow up to last year’s contentious RPG.
According to the registration, the domain was set-up on January 11 by ‘Corporation Service Company’, the registrant responsible for creating domain names for various other Square-Enix titles includingFront Mission Evolved, Nier and Gun Loco.
Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time a Final Fantasy game has received a direct sequel. Final Fantasy X-2 hit shelves just two years after the original title, by adding a new storyline and recycling assets from Final Fantasy X.
Given the sales success of FFXIII, a direct sequel is sure to be on the cards, right?
