Sony Say Your Credit Cards May Not Be Safe

As if to make things even worse during the Playstation Network crisis, Sony have come out and informed gamers that they cannot confirm whether or not credit card details have been stolen due to the external intrusion that is causing so many problems to the PSN. If this is the case it will arguably go down as one of the greatest lapses in computer security for a very long time.

Satoshi Fukuoka, a spokesman for Sony Computer Entertainment has said that they are currently undertaking a “thorough investigation” into the external intrusion. He would not provide any further information regarding the problems.

He also claimed that Sony has not determined whether or not credit card information has been stolen, a statemant that was confirmed by PatrickSeybold the Sony Computer Entertainment of America spokesman.

Seybold also stated that Sony is doing it’s best to get the PSN back online, saying “As we previously noted, this is a time intensive process and we’re working to get them back online quickly,”

“We’ll keep you updated with information as it becomes available. We once again thank you for your patience.”
