When you say the name Robert Englund you immediately imagine a man with knives for fingers and a pizza for a face. Then when George A Romeros name pops into the equation you start creating mass zombie orgys in your head. Add a dash of Sarah Michelle Gellar from The Grudge, Danny Trejo from Machete and Michael Rooker from The Walking Dead and what have you got?
Why it is of course the new undead level being released in the all new ‘Escalation’ map packs.
The newest zombie level will also have it’s own storyline, in this case it is based around a shipwrecked crew of explorers who have found themselves abandoned on a Siberian outpost. Next thing they know wave after wave of mindless zombies are trying to give a new meaning to the word ‘fast food’.
Dave Anthony, Black Ops director said the following about the new level, “This is Treyarch’s tribute to the legendary George Romero, who truly defined the zombie genre and whose incredible work has been such an inspiration to our team. It was an absolute honor to work with such an amazing and talented cast whosepassion and energy brought their characters instantly tolife.Fans are going to love this.”
The game Black Ops has been an undeniable success with over two billion playing hours now logged and over one billion dollars generated in sales. The first map pack ‘First Strike’ smashed past 1.4 million downloads within 24 hours and this new map pack will hopefully do even better.
Mark Lamia, studio head at Treyarch commented on the new maps saying, “In crafting the Escalation multiplayer maps – Zoo, Convoy, Hotel and Stockpile – the team developed them to be distinct experiences in their own right, giving players the variety they crave in both setting and gameplay,”
