Ever since the start of the Playstation Network fiasco there has been a great deal of finger pointing at various people and organisations as to the cause of the downtime.
Most of the finger pointing went the way of Anonymous, a group of people trying to fight for ‘freedom of speech’ and ‘internet freedom’. Console Monster thought it was time to have a small chat with an Anonymous member, although well established naturally the member has no name or alias.
We asked him/her what they thought of Anonymous being blamed for the attack, “No matter who did it, this action is against the Anonymous principles, so it wasn’t an Anonymous attack, it just was an attack to get private data. Thats not Anonymous, that’s just a crime to make money“
We also asked the Anonymous member if they thought Anonymous would attack the PSN when it comes back online, happily they said, “no, i don’t think that someone related to anon will attack them in the future, they already stopped the anonymous cuber-attacks against Sony in the past and instead they demonstrate in real life“
The contact even continued, commenting on the pit falls of being a part of an organisation such as Anonymous, “of course its bad that some people now think that these people are Anonymous, but thats the disadvantage of being anonymous.”
So there you have it, a small insight into the world of Anonymous. At least, according to our contact, PS3 owners can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that, for now, it seems Anonymous will not be laying siege to the PSN once it is eventually back online.
Look out for more new on the PSN downtime here at Console Monster.
