SEGA have today announced the official game of the London 2012 Olympics.
Both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 will be seeing the title released on their respective consoles giving gamers the chance to relive those Olympic moments from the comfort of your own home.
In total the game will have 30 events including online leaderboards and stats. It is currently under development over at SEGA Studio Australia. The studio has a “state of the art motion capture facility,” which will be no doubt used to good effect in this upcoming title.
“London 2012 looks set to be our best ever release in the Olympic Games simulation franchise in terms of both sales and number and quality of events,” said Raymond Goldsmith, chairman and CEO of International Sports Multimedia, the exclusive licensee of the International Olympic Committee. “We are delighted to be working once again with Sega to ensure we will achieve this historic milestone.”
No release date has been set although you can guess it won’t be far of the Olympic opening ceremony around the 27th of July. Look out for more news here at Console Monster.
