Microsoft have spoken today of the Xbox 360’s life cycle after Sony recently revealed that they thought their Playstation 3 had a lifespan of a decade.
Chris Lewis, Xbox VP, said that the Xbox is “about halfway through” it’s current life cycle.
“Xbox is defying the normal curve you might expect,” Lewis noted. “There’s no doubt that Kinect put a huge shot of adrenaline into the business.”
The Kinect itself has sold over ten million units now which has helped the company captilise on the entertainment market rather than solely focusing on the gaming genre.
With the Wii U being revealed many expected Microsoft and Sony to follow suit. With the Xbox being only 6 years old it looks like it has a fair few miles left in it’s tank before being replaced by the next generation.
