A number of Norwegian retailers have today pulled 51 titles from sale amidst the horrific attacks that saw 77 people killed.
Coop Norway and Platekompaniet have made the choice to suspend sales on many games which they deem ‘violent’. Amongst those being removed from sale are Sniper Ghost Warrior, Counter-Strike-Source, Call of Duty and the MMO World of Warcraft.
Anders Behring Breivik, the shooter in the recent atrocities, mentioned both Modern Warfare 2 and World of Warcraft in a 1,500 page manifesto written before his callous attacks.
The games were used as tools, World of Warcraft as an excuse for his apparent solitary nature and Modern Warfare 2 as a training aid before setting off to take the lives of 77 innocent youths.
