Capcom has announced a permanent price reduction for Monster Hunter Wilds, alongside the introduction of new downloadable content (DLC) bundles. The changes affect multiple versions of the game and take effect from August 4.
From that date, the Monster Hunter Wilds Deluxe Edition, Premium Deluxe Edition, and the Cosmetic DLC Pass will be removed from purchase. In their place, Capcom will offer the Monster Hunter Wilds Gold Edition, Cosmetic DLC Collection, and Extras Cosmetic DLC Pack.
New Bundles Replace Older Editions
The Monster Hunter Wilds Gold Edition combines the base game with the entire Cosmetic DLC Collection, presenting a consolidated package for new players. The Cosmetic DLC Collection itself includes all ten cosmetic DLC packs previously released, covering Packs 1 through 4, the Festival of Accord DLC Packs (Blossomdance, Flamefete, Dreamspell, Lumenhymn), the Deluxe Pack, and the Extras Cosmetic DLC Pack.
The Extras Cosmetic DLC Pack will offer select paid cosmetic items that had been available only as standalone purchases previously, providing a more focused option for players seeking specific content.
Platform and Pricing Impact
The permanent price reduction applies across all platforms where Monster Hunter Wilds is available, which includes Xbox, PlayStation, and the Nintendo Switch. This move coincides with the recent announcement of Monster Hunter Wilds’ release for the Nintendo Switch 2, following the original release’s absence from the earlier Switch model.
The price cut aims to make the game more accessible to new hunters as the player base expands onto additional hardware. Details on the extent of the price reduction have not been disclosed, but Capcom’s official X account shared the update on July 13, generating positive responses among the community.
Players on Xbox and PlayStation seeking to purchase content should prepare for the upcoming changes, ensuring any interest in the outgoing editions is addressed before August 4. After this date, purchasing options will shift exclusively to the new editions and bundles.
Capcom’s reconfiguration of Monster Hunter Wilds’ pricing and DLC structure follows prior efforts to bundle cosmetic content more efficiently and to expand availability across next-generation platforms. The removal of the deluxe editions from sale and introduction of bundles with comprehensive cosmetic options streamline purchasing choices for consoles players on all major platforms.
This update marks the latest adjustment in Monster Hunter Wilds’ post-launch lifecycle, aligning with broader hardware releases and ongoing content delivery plans. Capcom has yet to reveal further details about future DLC or updates following this pricing and bundle announcement.
