Into the Radius 2 Launches on PS VR2 with Single-Player Campaign September 24

CM Immersive has announced that Into the Radius 2 will release on PlayStation VR2 on September 24, 2026. The VR survival shooter will initially launch with an expanded single-player campaign, with a free update introducing two-player co-op set for Q4 2026. This marks the arrival of the title on Sony’s latest virtual reality platform.

Into the Radius 2 rebuilds the experience of the original game with enhanced visuals, deeper tactical gameplay, and more immersive physics integration tailored to the PS VR2 hardware. The update to the loadout system allows players to precisely configure their gear, including chest rigs, armour, and backpacks, positioning accessories to their preference. Weapons feature modular parts such as barrels, stocks, optics, grips, and magazines, which players can swap to suit different combat scenarios. Additionally, the game includes detailed weapon maintenance mechanics where individual parts can wear down or accumulate dirt, impacting performance during missions.

Enhanced threats and environmental challenges

The setting of the Pechorsk Anomaly has expanded with new environmental storytelling elements like altered objects, scattered notes, and frozen human remains. Enemies have been redesigned to employ more advanced behaviours; for example, Mimics use cover and squad tactics, Fragments attack aggressively, and Phantoms rely on invisibility until players cease movement. Players will also encounter dynamic hazards such as electric shocks, high-velocity shrapnel, and forced field blasts, making navigation hazardous. Specialized anti-distortion headgear is required in Distortion Zones to mitigate constant health drain. A recurring event called the Tide periodically resets enemy positions and loot to prevent predictable gameplay.

PS VR2 integration and upcoming co-op mode

The PS VR2 version leverages the platform’s capabilities with features like adaptive triggers that simulate variable resistance based on firearm mechanics. Haptic feedback through headset and controllers conveys environmental and combat signals such as anomaly pulses and impacts. The game targets a native 90fps performance while employing eye-tracked foveated rendering to maintain visual clarity, particularly for distant objects and fog effects. Spatial 3D audio helps detect hazards and enemy movements ahead of visual contact.

A co-operative multiplayer mode will be added in a free update in Q4 2026, enabling two players to explore the Anomaly together, share supplies, and coordinate tactical approaches. This update follows the initial launch focus on delivering a comprehensive single-player experience.

Into the Radius 2’s official release on PlayStation VR2 on September 24 will provide a rich tactical VR survival experience, with a significant post-launch expansion including co-op play scheduled before the end of the year.
