At BlizzCon 2026, Blizzard outlined an extensive roadmap for Diablo 4, detailing key updates impacting players on multiple platforms. The highlight is the introduction of the Amazon class, set to launch in the first half of 2027, along with a confirmed collaboration for a Netflix animated adaptation and a port to Nintendo Switch 2.
The new Amazon class returns to its origins in the Diablo universe, bringing a distinct combat style tied to the Skovos region explored in the Lord of Hatred expansion. This addition follows the Paladin and Warlock classes, balancing classic franchise elements with newer gameplay mechanics. The Amazon’s arrival in 2027 extends the game’s content lifecycle with fresh tactical depth for players.
Season 15: A 30th Anniversary Celebration
Alongside the Amazon announcement, Blizzard revealed details for Diablo 4’s Season 15, titled Season of Hell’s Legacy. The season commemorates 30 years of Diablo with callbacks to iconic enemies, legacy items like In Geom and Stone of Jordan, and lore involving the Prime Evils. Attendees at BlizzCon have access to a playable version on the show floor, with further information scheduled for the “What’s Next” panel.
Nintendo Switch 2 Port and Netflix Adaptation
Blizzard confirmed that Diablo 4: The Age of Hatred collection will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2, with playable demos offered at BlizzCon’s press and public areas. This marks a significant expansion for the franchise onto the next iteration of Nintendo’s hardware, broadening platform availability beyond Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
The company also officially announced the long-rumoured Diablo animated series for Netflix. While few details about the adaptation are currently available, its confirmation follows earlier hints from Blizzard personnel. The project aligns Diablo with other successful Netflix gaming adaptations like Castlevania and Cyberpunk Edgerunners.
These announcements provide confirmed plans that will affect Diablo 4 players across Xbox, PlayStation, PC, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Blizzard’s roadmap extends the game’s presence into 2027 with substantial content and cross-media expansions.
