PlayStation Plus Adds Mafia: The Old Country and Horizon Forbidden West in October Update

Sony has unveiled the October PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, introducing a diverse set of titles for Extra and Premium tier subscribers. Leading the additions are Mafia: The Old Country and Horizon Forbidden West, both available from October 20.

Players can experience Mafia: The Old Country, a third-person action-adventure set in early 1900s Sicily. The game delves into the origins of organised crime through the story of Enzo Favara, as he navigates the period’s violent underworld and attempts to prove his loyalty to the Family against a backdrop of vendettas and period-authentic weaponry.

New games across PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium

Horizon Forbidden West returns players to Aloy’s post-apocalyptic journey, exploring new landscapes and fighting formidable machines. This title features on both PS5 and PS4 for Extra and Premium members. Mycopunk, a mission-based looter shooter with co-op support for up to four players, also joins the catalog at launch. Players take control of robots combating a planet-wide fungal infestation, with a focus on customisation and action.

Additional games arriving on PlayStation Plus Premium include Dino Crisis 2 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition. Dino Crisis 2 continues the survival horror narrative with expanded environments and a new protagonist, while RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 offers extensive park-building tools and management gameplay.

Release dates and platform availability

Most new titles will be playable from October 20, except for Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 and Tales of Arise – Beyond the Dawn Edition, which arrive on October 27. Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 is available for PS5 and PS4, continuing the horror puzzle experience in a toy factory setting. Tales of Arise, featuring a JRPG storyline set between the worlds of Rena and Dahna, will also launch on both platforms on the same day.

The Midnight Walk, a dark fantasy adventure with unique claymation visuals, launched earlier today for PS5 and PS VR2. It offers an experience blending atmospheric storytelling with survival mechanics in a handcrafted world.

PlayStation Plus is marking the Halloween period with exclusive Horrorfest offers, details of which Sony has provided alongside the game announcements. This seasonal content complements the horror-themed titles added to the catalog.
