Rockstar Games has unveiled the official launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6), providing the first comprehensive look at the game before its scheduled release on 19 November. The trailer highlights gameplay footage captured on PlayStation 5, showcasing key elements of the upcoming action-adventure title.
The trailer includes sequences of high-stakes heists, including a helicopter escape that appears to go awry, alongside chase scenes involving law enforcement. These setpieces suggest a continued focus on elaborate criminal operations, a hallmark of the Grand Theft Auto series.
Details on Setting and Characters
Gameplay footage opens with a view of The Keys, a location that has seen limited exposure in previous trailers or demos. This addition expands the known geography of GTA 6’s in-game world. The soundtrack features “Flower in a Hurricane,” a new single by Justice featuring contributions from Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
The trailer also includes a notably intimate shower scene involving the game’s two protagonists, which appears to confirm the inclusion of sex scenes and nudity. Character insights are hinted at, such as a visible ankle tag on the character Lucia, potentially indicating she is on parole. Another character, Jason, can be seen receiving a reverse-charged phone call, which may imply Lucia is contacting him from jail.
Platform Availability and Release Timing
Grand Theft Auto 6 is confirmed for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 19 November. The launch trailer’s release comes amid ongoing legal proceedings involving Rockstar, with an employment tribunal currently taking place in Glasgow. The timing is significant as recent gameplay leaks have circulated, making this trailer the first official visual material available close to launch.
This trailer likely represents Rockstar’s final official showcase before players gain full access to the game across major console platforms.
