It’s official: those that have yearned for another trip into Hell are getting their wish… DOOM 4 has been announced.
The announcement came in the fashion of a job advertisement. “DOOM is part of the id Software DNA and demands the greatest talent and brightest minds in the industry to bring the next installment of our flagship franchise to Earth,” from id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead. “It’s critical for id Software to have the best creative minds in-house to develop games that meet the standards synonymous with our titles.”
Also from the id Software site, “Production has begun on DOOM 4™, the next journey into the legendary DOOM universe. We are expanding our internal team and are currently hiring to work on this highly anticipated title.”
While no official console has been released, one can assume that the title will at least be coming to the 360 based on the previous installment’s track record.
