Come November, both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One will be on sale, over seven years since their predecessors hit the shop shelves.
Despite the four month wait, gamers are already taking sides over the next-generation of consoles in a similar fashion to The Twilight Saga.
Nevertheless, those who are neutral in the console war may only be able to afford one of them on launch, or may only have enough space under the Christmas tree for one console-sized gift.
So which next-generation console should you choose? Here are five reasons why you should buy the Xbox One:
1. Exclusives
Microsoft hasn’t held back in naming titles that are exclusive to the Xbox One, with sequels for Dead Rising, Halo and Forza Motorsport already lined up.
In addition, Microsoft has announced a number of brand new IPs for the console including Ryse: Son of Rome, Quantum Break, Titanfall, Sunset Overdrive, Killer Instinct… the list goes on.
If that wasn’t enough, it was recently revealed that every console can become a development kit, so we’ll be seeing some unique titles on a regular basis.
2. Entertainment
The Xbox One isn’t just a games console, something viewers of Microsoft’s E3 conference will be fully aware of.
Entertainment is set to play a huge part of the console, with television programmes, films and music all incorporated. Plus, with it all on one box, the Xbox One can save vital space under your television.

3. Controller
At a glance, the Xbox One controller isn’t much different from the Xbox 360 controller.
However, the addition of Trigger Rumble Motors, a battery pack flush and a plus-shaped D-Pad are just a number of the changes that are set to improve the gaming experience.
4. Kinect
Whether you love it or hate it, Kinect 2.0 is set to become a large part of the Xbox One.
The motion sensing device, which has been enhanced 10xin comparison to the original Kinect, comes bundled with the console and can be used to control the dashboard, as well as a number of games.
5. Online
Ever since Xbox Live launched in 2002, gamers across the world have been connected through the online service.
In just over a decade, Xbox Live has grown and that is set to continue with the arrival of the Xbox One.
Microsoft has increased the amount of servers for Xbox One users to 300,000, compared to the 15,000 servers that were used to handle the Xbox 360.
Furthermore, you can now have up to 1,000 friends. Good luck filling that!
The Xbox One goes on sale in November 2013.
