Modern Warfare: 3 Monster Musts

With the third installment in the Modern Warfare series on the horizon we thought it would be a good idea to have 3 things that we think are monster musts. Activision always take our views on board so lets hope some, if not all three of the below are incorporated within the game.

2/4 player story mode

Don’t get me wrong, the Call of Duty single player modes are pretty darn good, if a little short. But that doesn’t mean they can’t get better, and what better way to improve the single player than to share the experience with online friends. Ideally four players would be suited best but of course I’d be happy if Activision met in the middle with a minimum of two campaign playable players. Games like Gears of War really benefit from co-op modes so why shouldn’t the next Modern Warfare?

Proper ranked online matches

This is something I’ve been championing since Modern Warfare 1 and yet can you believe it, it’s never been included. Don’t get me wrong the current ranking is system is great and highly addictive – another reason why the game is played so much online – and the reason for that is you don’t have to be any good to feel like you’re doing well by ranking up. There are people who have reached over 10th prestige who’ve played the game for over 20 days, yet there kill death ratio is 0.80. For me that’s the problem. There’s no real way of seeing how good a player is at a particular gametype because the only thing that really tells you how good you are is your kill death ratio, and what use is that in a game of Domination. In my ideal world each gametype would be ranked in a way that could progress up and down depending on your skill level. A little bit like the ranking system found in Halo 2.

I would settle for Activision making at least one of game lobby’s ranked but I suppose only time will tell. Let me know your thoughts on the ranking system and how you think Activision could improve it.

Customisable players

Yes I know that in Call of Duty: Black Ops you can already customise your players look, but I want more. More armour options, improved accessories and definitely a wider range of apparell to choose from. This could be something that could be easily added as well as giving you something to actually spend your COD points on when you’ve got thousands of them. If they were looking for any tips they should put Rainbow Six Vegas 2 back into their Xbox 360.

Other

Other notable suggestions that didn’t quite make the list include banning all screaming kids from playing online, an in-depth clan system, the return of quick-scoping (which we think will already be incorporated in the game) and finally a knifing only lobby. Activision, if you want to hire me for future ideas for your future games contact me via twitter @dvx_uk, failing that I hope you read this and take note!
