Did you miss us? Sure you did… You may have witnessed the lack of posting over the last few days, this is due to us switching over to our new, hopefully faster, server. During this process we’ve decided take the opportunity to tidy up an old and tired layout, since we launched in 2005, and stretch out our arms a little with a new wider layout format.
With this wider layout, it means our main sidebar navigation is now poised at the very top of the page, in the white bar. We’ve grouped a few options together to simplify things more around the site, so you will find less options, however we’ve not cut any old features. You can now find a lot of this content in the ‘Games’ section, from where you can filter releases dates, hottest reviewed games, through to sorting our games database by Genre and Publisher.
The main obvious change is on our homepage, which with all the room we now have, we have added our forum and Twitter feeds alongside our news column. Below that is the latest screenshots for the last five game titles, each with their own preview window, and below that we’ve removed the latest hardware and replaced this with a new Video section, where we will be keeping up-to-date with the latest and greatest recommended trailers from YouTube, whether it be form our own channel or from others.
Over in our forum, we’ve carried through our wider layout, which now sports a bigger viewing area for posts and images for our community members. The forum has been also given a fresh version update too that is also bundled with a few tiny feature updates here and there.
This is only the beginning of our v2.5 rollout of Console Monster. Over the coming weeks/months we will be dropping in new features and some nips and tucks here and there around the site, so keep your eyes peeled on Console Monster and our Twitter feed for updates on these. Enjoy 😀
