Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 5 Launches July 23 with New Maps and Modes

Activision has announced that the fifth season of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone will launch on July 23. The update brings new multiplayer maps, limited-time modes, weapons, and a fresh Battle Pass to consoles including PS5, PS4 and presumably Xbox and PC platforms.

The new season introduces a variety of maps, including Jubilee—a rural Japanese town setting disrupted by conflict—and remastered locations Frequency and Dig, set in the mountains of Hunan and the archaeological site of Avalon respectively. Mid-season content updates will add maps such as Turbo Tilt, inspired by Nuketown’s history, shrinking players into a pinball machine environment, alongside Freeun: Descent, a new freerunning obstacle course.

Alongside new destinations, Season 5 rolls out limited-time modes like Overdrive Domination, where players capture objectives and eliminate enemies to gain stars and Operator buffs. Another mode, Gauntlet Rush, challenges players through a series of game types including Team Deathmatch and Hardpoint, while Cranked Moshpit returns mid-season with its signature time-limited survival gameplay.

Zombies mode is expanded with the new survival map Eidskallen Lighthouse, situated on Beacon Island, tasking players with reaching high rounds under confined conditions. Additional gameplay options include Directed Mode for Kowakujō, Rogue Run playlists set on Astra Malorum, and a Round-Based Zombies finale arriving mid-season. The update also adds new perks, GobbleGums, and legacy weapons like Widow’s Wine.

Warzone Updates

Warzone will see the introduction of Drone Labs, a new point of interest located east of TV Station and south of Quarry on Verdansk. The facility is designed around drone-related gameplay, featuring a drone obstacle course and reportedly an armed JLTV vehicle. A new killstreak called HKDs Killstreak deploys aerial drone strikes in both Resurgence and Battle Royale modes. Mid-season, Warzone will receive a Quickdrop Kit that reduces squad redeployment times and a new season of Resurgence Ranked Play with associated rewards.

Season 5’s Battle Pass brings Spectre as a new Operator alongside Weapon Blueprints including the FG42 Assault Rifle and dual-wield Gremlin SMGs. Additional weapons like the Mammoth LMG and Mace melee weapon will be available through in-game events and challenges. The premium BlackCell offering includes the Cipher Operator and a Mastercraft Weapon Blueprint with unlockable variants.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone continue to support PS5 and PS4, with the Season 5 update providing cross-platform content for the player base. The full seasonal update is set to go live on July 23.
