EA has responded to complaints from Battlefield 3 users who were unable to activate Online Pass codes.
The Online Pass program requires gamers to input a single-use code, included with a copy of the game, in order to access online multiplayer features. Those who purchase a used copy of the title will have to fork out the 800 Microsoft Points in order to access the multiplayer.
A mix-up caused many retailers to receive shipments with invalid codes, leaving paying customers without access to online play. EA’s advice to those with invalid codes was as follows:
“We are aware of the invalid code issue and we apologize for the inconvenience. Since certain retailers are affected by this issue, please check with the retailer where you purchased Battlefield 3 in order to receive a replacement code.”
