Fable III goes foursquare in Kingmaker

Fable III will be coming to mobile phones in the form of a foursquare-esque game that will allow players to earn in-game gold that is transferrable to the main game.

Available from Monday 4th October, Fable III: Kingmaker will allow players to take ownership of land for their faction by tagging their location and planting a virtual flag using the GPS facility on their smart phone. The faction with the most flags in a territory will conquer it, changing its allegiance to the Rebels or the Royals – earning the reward of in-game gold.

Peter Molyneux, the creative director at Lionhead Studios, stated: “To be able to earn gold you can use in your Fable III game, and to check-in and claim land for your side is brilliant for both Fable III and Xbox 360. We all love the innovation and feeling of being connected that Kingmaker brings to gamers.”

The app will be available to download on the Android and Symbian on the 4th, iPhone from the 6th and Windows Mobile 7 at Christmas. Fable III releases on the 29th October when players will be able to transfer collected gold into the main game.
