Halo 4 Reveals That There is an Xbox 720?

As many a gaming fan will know Halo 4 was officially revealed to the world at this year’s E3 expo in Los Angeles. The announcement was also coupled with news of a Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary game coming to the 360.

Halo 4 will bring new weapons, no doubt new characters and what’s more interesting it will bring with it the beginning of a new trilogy in the Halo franchise. It will be interesting to see what 343 industries creates to make Halo 4 a viable threat to such gargantuan titles as Gears of War, Modern Warfare and Battlefield.

The above is of course not the news you were looking to read, in fact it seems that those eagle eyed gamers amongst you have noticed something rather interesting within the Halo 4 teaser trailer shown at E3.

At the end of said trailer the 343 industries logo appeared alongside the Microsoft logo, but alas there was no Xbox 360 logo. This may seem like we’re clutching at straws, but for massive games such as Halo, Microsoft never fail to place the old 360 stamp on trailers and screens just to further amplify the fact that the title is theirs and no one else’s.

This could mean that in fact the new Halo game is being made for the next generation Xbox console, what many are dubbing the ‘720’. It could even be a launch title, much more exciting than Perfect Dark Zero for those that remember it.

Of course please read this with a pinch of salt, Microsoft have not even hinted at a next-generation console being developed let alone games being made for them, even so it is intriguing to see a blaring omission on Microsofts part in the Halo 4 trailer.

We would love to hear what your views are on the possibility of Halo 4 coming to the Xbox ‘720’ in our comments box below.
