Pornography may be coming to a PS3 or Xbox 360 near you.
A company called Vivid Entertainment, who are the largest adult video production company in the world, has drafted proposals to distribute porn across the PlayStation Network.
Steve Hirsch, the boss of Vivid has said that ‘Sony has allowed adult video Blu-ray discs to be released, and will soon allow on-demand HD pornography to appear on the Japanese PSN via a local television company’.
Not that Sony weren’t against the whole idea at first however.
Hirsch said:
“Our point is pretty simple, as long as age verification is in place that [Sony] feels comfortable with we see no reason why adults shouldn’t be allowed to access adult movies on the PlayStation 3.”
The Xbox 360 would be the second console to benefit from adult videos if Hirsch gets his way, however he has made it clear that he won’t be approaching Nintendo over pornography on the Wii.
Best get those tissues ready.
