Quantic Dream have released a walkthrough video of their upcoming PS3 release, Heavy Rain. This one looks at a scene entitled “Father And Son” which focuses on one of the main characters, whose wife died in a car crash before the events of the game. He must now look after his kid on his own.
The scene itself reminds me a lot of the in-between calm down sections of Farenheit, in which you just wander around the apartment drinking milk, playing the guitar etc. The entire game is based around the Origami Killer and the video hints at the boy being kidnapped, which would tie these characters into the overall story.
I’m definitely excited about Heavy Rain. Despite it’s flaws I loved Farenheit, Quantic Dream’s last game, and more of the same is exactly what I need. It has a very film-like quality and it seems a more mature game than most, mixing sex, violence and drama in the right amounts. I will hopefully be able to play this next week and will, hopefully, come back gushing about how brilliant it is because, from this video, I can tell it will be something special.
