Lawsuit Against SEGA’s Colonial Marines

SEGA and Gearbox have this week responded to a lawsuit which is being brought against them in regards to recent title Aliens: Colonial Marines and it’s release version not matching those shown in pre-release previews and shown at gaming events.

“SEGA cannot comment on specifics of ongoing litigation, but we are confident that the lawsuit is without merit and we will defend it vigorously,” reads the statement from SEGA.

“Attempting to wring a class action lawsuit out of a demonstration is beyond meritless,” a statement from Gearbox reads. “We continue to support the game, and will defend the rights of entertainers to share their works-in-progress without fear of frivolous litigation.”

The lawsuit is being filed in the US and it is said to claim that SEGA knowingly demonstrated versions of the game that did not match the eventual release versions that were made available to gamers.

The lawsuit also states that SEGA distributed review code with an embargo on the games release date to hide the various issues that were ever prevalent in the game.

On release the game was a disaster what do you think of this lawsuit?
