Along with the upcoming Beta for the new Xbox Live update, Major Nelson has warned gamers that ‘unauthorized’ memory units will no longer work with the next update.
He advised owners that they should upgrade to an ‘official’ (and dare we say, more expensive option) of the official 360 memory unit or hard drive.
Part of the problem spurs from the wider range of ‘un-official’ accessories that are on offer and usually at a far cheaper price.
It means that these larger units on offer which are 3rd party, will be blocked with the forthcoming update.
Microsoft have yet to comment on the situation.
You can read Ant’s thoughts on the new update which includes Facebook, Last.fm and Twitter right now.
