Unless you’ve been living under a rock this past week then you’ll already be well acquainted with the problems that the Playstation Network is currently suffering.
Despite Sony releasing various statements of intent and saying time and again that they are ‘working their hardest’ to get the PSN back online it seems that there is no pleasing a good number of current PSN users.
The public reaction is so bad that in a recent survey 21% of current PSN users are thinking of selling up and migrating to Xbox LIVE, news which will no doubt have Microsoft CEO’s grinning from ear to ear.
The survey which was commissioned by CouponCodes 4U involved 2,132 gamers, so not a small survey. Although it must be said that the gamers were only considering selling up it’s not a case of them actually doing it as of yet. Even so to cause such a backlash in consumer support must have the guys at Sonys head office reeling.
CouponCodes4U Chairman Mark Person said the following in regards to the survey, “As a video gamer myself, this data theft is especially worrying and I’m not altogether surprised that Sony are likely to see an exodus to console competitors. As hackers get more and more intelligent, companies simply have to keep up. Sony has a responsibility to its millions of customers to protect personal details and this data theft proves that they weren’t capable of doing so. It’s clear that gamers across the country have decided that this failing is enough to switch their allegiances to the console’s closest rival.“
This news will also no doubt please Gamestation who we recently reported were offering a new Xbox 360 for your offline PS3.
