PayPal support coming to the Xbox 360?

PayPal support is coming to the Xbox 360, if a leaked document is to be believed.

Sent to Joystiq from a Microsoft tech support employee, the next dashboard update will “expand Paypal to new international markets and enable PayPal to be used as a payment instrument for points, content and subscription purchased on the Xbox 360 console.”

The Spring 2011 System Update (as it is known) is also set to “introduce support for a Xbox Game Disc Format (XGD3) that will be used in future game titles releasing later in 2011. The XGD3 allows for additional storage space on a game disc, and provides additional layers of copy protection.”

On top of the new information, the leaked document also reveals that the update will be released in six separate groups starting from the 19th May through till the 30th, so that a “high quality deployment” is ensured.

Microsoft has yet to comment though is expected to make an announcement this week.

The news comes as Sony’s PlayStation Network outage is almost into its fourth week, which has seen users’ credit card details being reportedly obtained by hackers.
