PES 2015 microtranscations detailed

News that the latest edition of Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer series will feature microtransactions has been greeted with what could generously be called a mixed reception. At an event for the game yesterday, we spoke to the publisher about its plans.

James Cox, the studio head of Konami’s new European studio, which is making its PES debut this year, explained that most players will use agents to scout for new recruits in the new myClub mode. This extension of the series’ popular Master League mode will see players use Game Points earned here and from training exercises to add to their squad. The microtransactions, said Cox, were merely an alternative way to help time-poor and less skilled players obtaingalacticosfor their team.

“If you don’t have a lot of time, then with microtransactions you can go buy a lot of players that you want,” said Cox. “But you also can earn Game Points in the mode and other parts of PES as well. We’re trying to link things together so you can progress and build your team [normally]. The idea is that we’re trying to just give the players the choice of what they want to do. Some people have more time, some people have more money. Some people have a bit of each! Either way, you’ll have the choice.”
