“Sony’s new PS3 Slim has been a success in its short history…”
According to Chart-Track, The release of the PlayStation 3 Slim has boosted sales of the console a staggering 999%. speaking to MCVUK, Chart-Track said the following
“The sales increase is very impressive, making the PS3 the top selling hardware in Week 36. The Xbox 360, Wii and DS Lite all sold around the same amount last week – PS3 Slim outsold each of them by a ratio of three-to-one.”
“The longevity of this uplift very much depends on the time of year. The PS2 Slim was released in November, much closer to Christmas. We’ll have to wait and see how things work out for Sony this time.”
With Christmas around the corner, albeit another 3 months away, should Microsoft start worrying? I think Sony have played their wildcard at an excellent time. No doubt sales will continue to boost throughout the coming months but only time will tell, so keep it Console Monster.
