Xbox 360 5.1 Surround Sound compatible

Dolby Laboratories today confirmed that the Xbox 360 games console will fully support 5.1 surround sound for both games and movies! This means that any of you readers who are lucky enough to have a 5.1 surround sound speaker system will be able to enjoy the full sound effects of your latest games using the cinematic 5.1-channel surround sound technology built into the console. This also means that games will be designed with 5.1 surround in mind, meaning you will get some truly fantastic sound coming from the heaps of games expected on the X360 over the next few years. All DVD’s and movie playback will also be available in 5.1 surround sound (Well, for those DVD’s that support it that is! -Ed) so you’ll still get the great cinema effect from your favourite DVD’s!
