Early reports from the NPD Group, the group which tracks video game software and hardware sales in the US, suggest that the Xbox 360 was best selling console during the Christmas period.
From November to December 25th, approximately 2 million Xbox 360 consoles were sold in the US. Nintendo’s Wii came in second with around 1.8 million units sold. Sony’s Playstation 3 came in with a lacklustre, by comparison, 750,000 units sold during the same period.
While these figures are only estimated, the NPD Group is expected to release the exact figures some time later this month.
