With the PSN crisis still going on Microsoft looked pretty comfy have free reign of the online world over the bank holiday weekend. Today though Microsoft were forced to issue an Xbox Live security warning to it’s gamers.
The warning is due to increased number of ‘phishing scams’ currently taking place in the realm of Xbox LIVE. Phishing is when someone contacts you asking for personal details, be it credit card numbers, pins or passwords.
This generally speaking is quite a common occurrence as it is, but Microsoft has noticed a growing number of scams over Modern Warfare 2 in particular, hence the warning.
You can see the security alert on the Xbox LIVE website.
This warning is no fault of Microsofts, and the alert is a precautionary measure to make gamers aware of the problem. So in case you do receive a message from a less than truthful source, remember, never reveal any personal information via Xbox LIVE.
