The Xbox 360 is continuing to dominate the Japanese market at the moment as for the third week running it has outsold its nearest rival the PS3.
Microsoft have always struggled in the Eastern market, but seem to be picking gamers up as Sony tries to woo them back in. 8,271 units for the 360 were shifted last week while the PS3 only managed 7,232 consoles. Both consoles are said to be suffering a dip in the market however. The word ‘credit-crunch’ hasn’t quite hit Japan yet, so we’re not sure why!
With TGS this week just gone and the announcement for the New Xbox Experience launch date and news on Tekken 6 and Halo 3 Recon, Microsoft want to be taken seriously in Japan. And rightly so they have done that, so expect figures to remain steady or increase as we approach Christmas!
