Race Driver: Grid 2 could be set to feature an improved engine, enhanced online play and even social networking integration, according to Codemasters, who let the first details slip in a recent interview with Xbox World 360 magazine.
When asked why Dirt would be receiving a sequel ahead of Grid, executive producer Clive Moody said:”Grid was a huge success, and we want to be absolutely sure that the next Grid is blow-away fantastic.
“In order to do that we need a little bit more time because of the scope of what we want to do with the game… we’re also internally looking at using the next generation of the EGO engine,” revealed Moody, before delivering the killer blow:”We’ve also got some very, very big plans going on behind the scenes for online and social.”
Codemaster’s upcoming EGO 2.0 engine reportedly boasts some of the most impressive weather effects in the business, so you can expectRace Driver: Grid 2 to be among the finest looking racers of the generation when it purrs out of the garage, probably sometime in 2012.
