Battlefield 6 Season 4 Brings Top Gun Crossover with Maverick Characters in August

Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios have announced that Battlefield 6 will receive a Top Gun crossover in Season 4, set to arrive this August across all platforms. This update introduces characters and vehicles from the Top Gun: Maverick film alongside new gameplay modes focused on naval and aerial combat.

The Top Gun collaboration will feature character skins of Lieutenant Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw, Lieutenant Robert “Bob” Floyd, and Admiral Solomon “Warlock” Bates, with full voice acting performed by their respective actors Miles Teller, Lewis Pullman, and Charles Parnell. These additions integrate the film’s cast directly into battlefield encounters, extending beyond mere cosmetics.

Top Gun-themed content includes new maps and game modes

Season 4 will expand Battlefield 6’s naval warfare with the introduction of two new modes: Carrier Strike—a reimagining of the classic Carrier Assault mode focused on attacking and defending aircraft carriers—and Fighter Sweep, a jets-only combat mode designed for aerial dogfights. Additionally, a new two-seater jet will enable cooperative play reminiscent of Top Gun’s iconic dogfighting scenes.

The content rollout is divided into phases, beginning July 21 with Phase 1: Pacific Front, which introduces Tsuru Reef, the largest map to date in Battlefield 6. Phase 2: Top Gun is scheduled for August 18 and will include a remake of the Wake Island map alongside the crossover content. Phase 3: Tidal Strike will conclude the season with the Deep Six Collection Event launching on September 15.

Season 4 enhances Battlefield 6 with new features and expansive maps

Beyond the crossover content, Battlefield general manager Byron Beede confirmed that Season 4 is the game’s largest update so far. It incorporates community feedback to expand the Battlefield 6 experience with the addition of Naval Warfare, larger environments, and new gameplay mechanics. Upcoming features also include Spectator Mode and a Portal Custom Lobby designed to improve competitive and social play within the game.

Battlefield 6 launched in October 2025 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, with ongoing support through seasonal content updates. Season 4 showcases EA’s continued investment in expanding gameplay variety and cross-media collaborations within the shooter title.

The Top Gun crossover content and new game modes will be accessible across all platforms Battlefield 6 supports. Players can expect the next phase of the update to fully activate on August 18, marking a significant addition to the game’s first anniversary year.
