Bandai Namco has announced the release of the Super Limit-Breaking Neo DLC for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, scheduled for July 30, 2026. This expansion adds new content to the 2024 fighting game that revived the Budokai Tenkaichi series after a 17-year hiatus.
The DLC introduces a new solo mode called Limit Breaker Journey where players select a favourite character and develop their abilities using an interactive map-based system. Players earn EXP and unlock Battle Arts to customise stats and gain temporary or permanent buffs. Customisation revolves around spending SP points across six different attributes to tailor fighters to specific playstyles.
Super Limit-Breaking Neo adds approximately 30 new playable characters to Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, increasing the roster to over 200 fighters. Bandai Namco highlighted unique character interactions exclusive to the new additions, maintaining a key feature of the series. The DLC will also expand the game’s selection of destructible stages with four new arenas: Kami’s Palace, Kame House, Bitter Tundra, and Stratosphere (Earth and Planet Vegeta).
New Features and Gameplay Enhancements
The DLC enhances single-player content with Limit Breaker Journey, offering branching events and battles including special conditions and encounters involving Dragon Ball collection. Players can repeat runs to further develop characters and use them in offline battles or player matches.
Alongside new content, Bandai Namco confirmed free updates arriving simultaneously with the DLC, introducing features such as Sparking Boost and Chain Blast, which enhance combat mechanics. These additions aim to deepen gameplay and expand strategy options within multiplayer and solo modes.
Since its launch, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has been available on major consoles, including PlayStation platforms, with a sizeable cast of fighters. This DLC update continues the trend of expanding the game’s depth and breadth, offering console players fresh gameplay modes and an expanded roster to compete with or against friends offline or online.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero – Super Limit-Breaking Neo will release on July 30, 2026, across PlayStation and other supported consoles.
