Microsoft has started rolling out new features for the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles, initially available to Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring. Among these updates is the long-requested ability to include party voice chat in gameplay recording clips, alongside improvements to achievement viewing, cloud save management, and the Xbox wishlist.
The addition of voice chat to captured game clips allows players to record both their own voice and those of fellow party members during gameplay. This update supports standard in-game chat audio as well as the Xbox app’s party voice chat feature. Players can individually choose whether to include their voice in game captures, providing flexibility when sharing gaming moments.
Expanded Achievement Sorting and Management
Alongside voice chat integration, Xbox has introduced new sorting options for achievements. Users can now organise their achievements by title, completion percentage, Gamerscore earned, and number of achievements unlocked, with options for ascending or descending order. This is designed to make it easier for players to track progress, particularly with upcoming Xbox Platinum Achievements integration.
Enhanced Cloud Save Controls and Wishlist Capacity
An update to cloud save functionality is also being prepared for broader release. Players will be able to restore previous versions of cloud saves directly from their console for supported games, starting with Forza Horizon 6. This feature permits browsing and restoring older save files without needing external tools or complicated processes.
Additionally, the Xbox wishlist capacity has been increased significantly. Xbox users can now add up to 1,000 games to their wishlist, compared to the previous limit of 301. This expansion allows users to keep a more comprehensive track of upcoming or discounted titles.
These improvements were announced through Xbox’s official channels and rolled out initially to Xbox Insiders with plans for wider availability to the general Xbox community.
