Microsoft has begun the rollout of Xbox Mythic Achievements to Xbox Insiders on both Xbox consoles and Windows PC, according to an announcement on Xbox Wire. This new type of achievement rewards players for unlocking every regular Achievement in a game’s base version, excluding DLC and updates, providing a rare and prestigious milestone for dedicated players.
Mythic Achievements are not limited to the latest Xbox Series X|S titles but are applicable across multiple Xbox generations, including backward-compatible Xbox 360 games. This launch addresses a long-standing request from the community that dates back to the Xbox 360 era.
New Gaming Tab Introduces Detailed Progress and Social Comparison
To support the tracking of Mythic Achievements, Microsoft has introduced a dedicated Gaming Tab on Xbox player profiles. This tab consolidates information such as overall Achievement completion, Gamerscore milestone badges, and a record of previously completed games. Importantly, it offers visibility into friends’ Mythic Achievement collections, fostering a new dimension of social comparison and competition.
A progress bar has also been added to individual games’ Achievement lists. This feature clearly indicates a player’s progress toward obtaining the Mythic Achievement, alongside an option to filter for the required Achievements still needed. This tool aims to aid completionists in targeting their efforts more efficiently.
Availability and Future Rollout
Currently accessible to Xbox Insiders, Microsoft has not announced an exact date for wider public availability of Mythic Achievements. Players participating in the Insider program are among the first to experience this new feature, with the general release expected to follow once testing completes.
Mythic Achievements provide completionist players with a new way to showcase dedication to their favourite games, extending achievement hunting beyond conventional milestones. This rollout confirms Microsoft’s continued investment in expanding Xbox’s achievement ecosystem, bringing fresh incentives to players across Xbox’s multi-generational library.
The latest official update from Microsoft confirms Mythic Achievements are rolling out now for Insiders on Xbox consoles and Windows PC, with wider availability planned in the future.
