GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 Leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium on 17 November

Sony has announced that several titles, including Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, will be removed from the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium catalog on 17 November 2026. This affects players accessing these games via the subscription service’s game catalog rather than those who own the games outright.

The outgoing games will no longer be playable through PS Plus Extra and Premium from the stated date. If subscribers have downloaded these titles while they were available on the service, those games will become inaccessible unless players purchase them separately.

Games Leaving PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium

The full list of departing titles includes Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4), Football Manager 26 (PS5), GTA 5 (PS4, PS5), The Talos Principle 2 (PS5), Cricket 24 (PS4, PS5), Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom (PS4, PS5), Hotshot Racing (PS4), Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break (PS4), Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair (PS4), Rapala Fishing Pro Series (PS4), and Yet Another Zombie Defense HD (PS4).

The removal of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 coincides closely with the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6, which is scheduled just two days after the games leave the PS Plus catalog. This timing provides an opportunity for players to revisit or experience these Rockstar titles before the new entry in the franchise arrives.

Impact on PlayStation Players

This change only impacts the availability of these games through PS Plus Extra and Premium’s streaming and download catalog. Players who have purchased these games will retain access to their content. However, those relying on the PS Plus subscription to play these titles will lose access after 17 November unless they purchase the games outright.

Sony has been actively updating the PS Plus catalog with new additions, including recent additions such as Mafia: The Old Country and Horizon Forbidden West. Players are encouraged to check the service regularly to see which games are available and note any upcoming removals to avoid missing out.

Subscribers should take care to play or download these titles they intend to keep before the removal date to avoid disruption. This action by Sony follows the standard practice of rotating games in and out of the PS Plus Extra and Premium lineups.

For now, PlayStation owners have until 17 November 2026 to access these games on PS Plus Extra and Premium before they will be withdrawn from the subscription catalog.
