Marvel’s Wolverine Trailer Reveals Lady Deathstrike Joining Logan and Sabretooth

Insomniac Games and PlayStation have released a new trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine, showcasing Lady Deathstrike for the first time alongside Sabretooth as part of the PS5 action title due in September 2026. The “Ain’t No Hero” trailer provides fresh narrative insight and character reveals for the upcoming game.

The footage includes Wolverine voicing his sense of weariness after a long life, interspersed with action sequences set in different weather conditions. The story hints at connections between Logan and Jean Grey, as the protagonist holds onto an old photograph featuring both characters.

Lady Deathstrike Introduced as Major Antagonist

The trailer prominently features Sabretooth arriving to assist Wolverine in combat, signalling a notable team-up within the narrative. More significantly, Lady Deathstrike appears in combat for the first time, confirming her role as a key antagonist. This marks the character’s debut in the game and indicates an intense rivalry with Wolverine.

The official description for Marvel’s Wolverine emphasises the narrative stakes: “Unleash the rage, confront the past. With the fate of humans and mutants hanging in the balance, Logan knows the world needs a hero; however, they’ll have to settle for Wolverine.” The game will include high-profile set pieces as players navigate a global fight for mutant survival.

Release Details and Platform Availability

Marvel’s Wolverine is scheduled for release on 15 September 2026 exclusively for PlayStation 5. The game will be available in physical disc format at launch. Insomniac has confirmed the “Ain’t No Hero” trailer will be shown ahead of select US theatrical screenings of the film The Odyssey starting from the day of the trailer’s debut, expanding promotional efforts.

The announcement reaffirms the game’s positioning as a PS5 exclusive, aligning with Sony’s portfolio and limiting availability to that platform. No versions for Xbox or Nintendo platforms have been announced.

Additional recent material from the June State of Play showcased other characters like Omega Red and Mystique, further expanding the roster and story elements. Insights from interviews with Insomniac provide further context on the game’s development and character inclusions.
